The Tivithius the Gatekeeper Saga was a limited-issue special edition saga of the Saber Man comic series issued by Odyssey Comics that debuted in April of 1969, and ran until October of the same year.

Only 6,000 copies of the six-issue saga were printed, most of which were destroyed when the warehouse they were stored in before being shipped to stores burned to the ground. Because of this, the vast majority of comic shops never carried a single issue of the saga. Today they are extremely rare collectibles and mint-condition issues have sold upwards of millions of dollars.

Jeff Dearly, the creator of Tivithius the Gatekeeper and writer of the saga, died four months after completing it. This ruled out any legitimate continuation of the character, and added to the allure for collectors.

In the saga, Saber Man is stranded on the world, Kalak'Gari, following the events of the Century Saga. While there, he is encountered by a mysterious being named Kol Tivithius, the guardian of the gate between our world and the Abyss.
